cartridge stem lab

Split a soundtrack into its instruments.

Load a track from your phone or PC. The lab finds the main instrument groups (percussion, bass, chords, lead), separates each into its own stem, and lets you audition and export every lane as an MP3.

Separation runs entirely on this page using spectral analysis (harmonic-percussive splitting plus register banding). It works best on chip-era soundtracks (8-bit through 16-bit), where instrument roles sit in cleaner frequency lanes than dense modern mixes. Expect some bleed between stems on busy passages; that's normal for DSP-based separation.

Exports appear in the tray above. Save opens your system's save dialog on PC (pick any folder) or the share sheet on your phone; choose Save to Files on iPhone or your file manager on Android to pick a location.
